Two years into our blog, it's a "fitting" time to pause and round up some of our posts about fittings.

  Swagelok Fittings

Swagelok fittings include more than just tube fittings. We've got a variety of different lines for different applications. Not sure what you need? >" target="_self">Ask us here>>

VCR and VCO

Swagelok made its name with a two-ferrule design for its fittings, but it also makes other types. The VCR and VCO fittings are notable for their zero clearance capability. This means that unlike pipe, tube, and weld end connections, the VCR and VCO fittings can be disassembled in line – with no clearance requirements.

Quick-Connects

For those sections of a fluid system that require fittings to be detached and reattached with some frequency, quick-connect fittings can relieve a lot of headaches. This post walks you through some of the jargon associated with quick-connects, and includes a few tips for getting the best performance from them.

More on Quick Connects

We devoted this post to more best practices in the use of quick-connects. Pause for a moment and test yourself: When is it OK to rotate quick-connects? What are the most common causes of failure? How do you protect quick-connects while they are uncoupled? This post answers those questions and more.

Q&A Round Two

Our customer service desks get a lot of questions about fittings. We've put some of them in this post. They cover pressure ratings, installation procedures, and proper use of the gap inspection gauge. You'll learn a bit about valves too.

Second Life

Swagelok's standard fittings don't have to be replaced each time they are disassembled. The body is designed to be re-used in many circumstances without fear of leaks. Our Fitting Reclamation program will show you where it makes sense in your system to re-use and refurbish. It's just one more part of our Value Impact Partnership effort to help customers.

Blind to the Benefits

Account Manager Jason Wynne took to the keyboard to discuss the uses of and theory behind the Swagelok restricted orifice fittings. These fittings are available in a variety of sizes or you can drill the blind ones out yourself.
