If it's Friday, it must be midday hockey time!

If you're interested in joining our Friday lunch hockey games, talk to us here or contact your sales & service represenative.

A few years ago we thought that some lunchtime hockey would be just the thing for the colder months of the year. As it turns out, our customers were game for the game too.

When and Where?

Our Edmonton Valve Hockey League has proved to be such a popular “lunch break” that we are getting ready to start our third season. We play every Friday at the Argyll Arena starting October 24th going through to the end of March. We have a fun mix of customers, associates, and friends who put on their skates at 11:45 a.m. and battle it out on the ice until 1 p.m.

Hockey has been a great way to meet customers outside of the usual business setting, as well as spending time with our associates. We've had a stable core group since Day 1, and have added players throughout each season as word spreads. We typically get between 15 and 25 players out to each session, but we could always use more people on the ice.

"The highlight for me this past season was watching Mike Taylor celebrate a goal by throwing his gloves in the air, then spending the next 20 minutes trying to knock them out of the rafters after they got stuck up there," said sales supervisor Tristian McCallion.

All for a good cause

It's a lot of fun, but we also make sure that it benefits the community as well. We ask for a $50 donation for the season from each participant, all of which goes to Stollery Children's Hospital. So if you want a good lunchtime workout that also benefits others, come on out this season and hit the ice with Edmonton Valve’s Hockey League!
