More on Tool Rentals

The best tools for the job

There's no substitute for good tools, but there is a substitute for the high cost of buying them; rent them from Edmonton Valve & Fitting. You pay only for the time you have the tools, whether it's a few days, a few weeks or a few months. Renting a tool for a day can cost as little as 1 percent of the purchase price.

The tool you require might be something as basic as a bench-top tube bender, one of our most popular rental tools. If you went out and bought a union elbow so that you didn't have to bend the tubing, you'd spend more than renting our tube bender for a day. For larger diameter tubing, 1.25 inches and up, we offer an electric bender.

We also have a tube straightener for getting the bend out of tubing that has just come off the coil. It saves a lot of frustration when you have a job such as installing a steam tracing line flat against a process pipe.

For big jobs you might want to rent our hydraulic swaging unit to pre-swage Swagelok tube fitting ferrules onto tubing prior to assembly which will save time and require less torque during assembly.

Another popular rental tool is our orbital welder for fusing tubing. Don't worry if you don't have any experience with that type of equipment, we offer training for the welder that can be hosted at our shop or we'll send someone to your site to train and certify your workers. Even our bench-top benders come with instructions. After all, we want you to take good care of our tools.

Good inventory

We try to keep more than one of every tool available so that we'll have one when you need it. When we see a high demand for a particular tool, we'll stock more of them. In many cases you can come in to rent the equipment the same day you need it.

It's hard to pinpoint demand, though, so the more advance notice you can give us, the more likely we'll be able to meet your needs. If you're really in a bind and we've already rented out the tool you need, we'll call another Swagelok distributor to see if we can borrow one.

Likewise, you may discover that you need a tool for longer than you anticipated. As long as your purchase order covers the rental cost, you can keep the tool until you finish the job. We'll even switch you from a daily rate to a weekly rate if that will save you money. If you realize you really ought to own a tool that you have been renting, we can sell it to you.

Yes, if you break something, we'll expect you to pay for repairs or replacement, but only if it's really your fault. Everything you'll need to know is in the rental agreement.
