As we continue to closely monitor the impact of COVID-19 across the globe and in our local communities, we recognize that many essential industries, businesses, and people rely on our products and services. We are committed to remaining open to ensure that we can support the critical work our customers are doing in this time of need.
Until the virus passes or subsides, we plan to act with the utmost caution and vigilance to ensure the safety of our associates, customers, and communities. Guided by our core values, our Leadership team has taken action to protect our associates, their families, and our communities by actively developing preparedness plans focused on associate safety and maintaining our customer commitments.
To address our actions concerning the current situation with COVID-19, acting with an abundance of caution and concern for the community, we have put several updates in place that we'd like to share with you:
To safeguard associate health while mitigating supply chain risks, Swagelok manufacturing and Edmonton Valve & Fitting will continue to implement changes including working from home, running staggered shifts, modifying work cells and equipment locations, and enhancing standard work to enable the recommended physical distancing rules while maintaining high quality. Implementation of these measures, as well as potential quarantine measures where appropriate, may result in temporary capacity reduction, or order delays throughout our supply chain. Though we are working hard to avoid this, extended lead times on new quotes and orders, and re-acknowledged delivery dates may be experienced temporarily while we work through the issues.
We want to share this for your ordering and planning purposes, so please look closely at your recently quoted lead times, as they may change from prior quotes. If necessary, we will communicate any rescheduled dates or supply chain disruptions as quickly as we can.
We will continue to work aggressively to resolve any issues and advise if potential improvements can be made as issue resolution progresses. Please work directly with your Customer Service Representative or Account Manager for any specific situations or emergencies.

As the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread, with the World Health Organization declaring it a global pandemic, and most recently, the Federal Government declaring this a national emergency, we are closely monitoring the outbreak and possible impacts on our associates, our customers, our operations, and our communities. Guided by recommendations from the relevant health and disease control authorities and our core values, we have and will continue to take actions that protect the health and well-being of our associates and those of our customers which is our number one concern.
Internally, we have increased the depth of our daily sanitizing of common areas, installed sanitizing stations at the primary entrance points to the building, requested associates to wash hands regularly and stay home if they are sick or returning from an area identified as a coronavirus-related risk or have received notification that they may have been exposed. We have also instituted social distancing in our facility. The primary way we have done this is through associates working remotely where practical to limit the number of associates working in our facility. We have also limited in person meetings, opting for phone calls and video conferencing whenever possible. When meeting in person is the only practical format for meeting, we are selecting meeting locations that allow for six feet of distance between all participants.
We are committed to remaining open to ensure that we support our customers even as the situation with COVID-19 changes daily. Out of an abundance of caution, below is a summary of the most recent actions Swagelok Edmonton has just taken. We expect to adjust our response as the situation develops and will inform you of future changes as they arise.
Onsite Visits: We have encouraged our account managers to use virtual communication when possible. Rest assured our team is available virtually via phone, email, video, and text communication. If your company is restricting site access, please respond to let us know so we can determine how to best support your needs virtually.
Vendor Managed Inventories: As of now, we continue to support Vendor Managed Inventories. We will be working closely with you to develop contingencies should the need arise for us to temporarily suspend in plant support. To prepare, our team would be happy to work with you on increasing stock levels for risk mitigation to ensure you have the product you need on-hand. Again, if your company is restricting site access, please respond to let us know so we can determine a plan to ensure your inventory has appropriate stock levels.
Customer Pickup/Walk-Ins/Courier Pick-Up: For the time being our Will Call facilities remain open and minimally staffed in order to look after our customers. We do ask that if you are showing signs of illness or have known exposure to a confirmed carrier of COVID-19 that you refrain from visiting the location until the symptoms have passed and you have been symptom free for 14 days. Further, we ask that you sanitize your hands at our sanitation station upon entering. Our Customer Service team is happy to assist with orders via phone or email and can assure any items you need are shipped directly to you.
We understand these precautions may impact the way our companies interact over the coming months, but we cannot emphasize enough that our main focus is the health of our associates and our customers. Stay at home when you're sick: As soon as you start experiencing flu-like symptoms, please stay home! If you have a fever, stay home for at least 24 hours after the fever is gone. Coughing should be taken seriously.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick: You are most contagious when you are the most symptomatic. Stay at least three feet away from sick people, when possible.
Cover your coughs and sneezes: Cover mouth and nose with tissue and throw tissue into the trash. Or cough/sneeze into upper sleeve.
Wash your hands: Wash hands thoroughly and often with soap and water. Make sure to scrub for at least 20 seconds (CDC). If soap is not present, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
Frequently and thoroughly clean touched surfaces and objects: Regularly clean and disinfect frequently used objects, such as: phones, doorknobs, computer keyboards, desks.
Be prepared and informed: A seasonal flu vaccination is recommended. Have ample food in stock in case of quarantine. Stay informed on the local flu and Coronavirus situation.
