When Will It Burst? Try the "SWAGELOK" Method for Hose Selection

Even though it's winter in Edmonton, we have taken a trip to the backyard to see how much pressure an ordinary garden hose can take before it bursts!

You have come to rely on the Swagelok name to give you the best in service and products, including valves, fittings, regulators, and tubing. Now you can use the letters in our name to help you pick out the right hose for the right job. That's because when you choose a hose you will want to consider these 8 factors:

Yes, local custom fabrication means that we build the hose right for you at our Edmonton location. We have a team of assemblers who build hose in our dedicated hose assembly cell. Not only can we can handle orders from one piece to a hundred, but we test every one of those hose assemblies before we send them out.

And the winner is...

In the most recent "When Will It Burst" video, we asked you to guess how much pressure it would take to burst a section of our X Series PTFE hose. There were some good guesses, but the best of all was from ?????? (You will have to watch the video to see who won and the actual burst pressure).

You can watch the video HERE

For those who didn't win, we are giving you one more chance. We wind up our video series with a piece of ordinary garden hose, the kind you might find in your own back yard, although maybe not this cold time of year! Watch this week's video to find out the garden hose's working and estimated burst pressures, and then enter your guess for a chance to win a prize. And even if you don't, it's a chance for a little extra holiday fun.

Remember as you watch this week's video, keep in mind the details of how to put the S.W.A.G.E.L.O.K. acronym into practice. That should get you off to a good start for 2015.
